Shasta was my inspiration! As a human without weakness, mine of which is that I am far more serious than I need to be, Shasta delightfully brought a feeling of freedom to my soul. A true Flat-Coat she was, always enjoying life to it's fullest and of course, never growing up! Shasta was always working to please me....of course.....more often when I was near the refrigerator!
If she was not found in the field fetching her birds or in the water swimming, you could usually find her somewhere teasing Hogan, our other fcr, enticing him to play with her (or team up with her for a new adventure). On the agility course she was stunning! She smiled on every jump and every turn! She loved agility. At the 2000 National in Colorado she won the Excellent B division and went on to make me proud by winning first place again in Excellent B competition at the Canadian Nationals
in Thunder Bay.
Shasta's tender personality and absolute devotion to me is what kept me smiling daily. Her high spirited attitude and love for life made many days that seemed dark so much brighter. She will be missed tremendously.....but she taught me so much about myself and about the joy that every day life offers....and now I do take time to 'smell the roses' as all of us should.
